The sweet smell of Spring.
It is that time of year again. Spring Training is under way and that only means one thing. Cubs tickets will be on sale soon. February 20th to be exact. With that said, the annual wristband system will be happening too. Wednesday the 18th was the first day for the wrist bands. So of course I went and got one with the hopes of being one of the lucky ones who get a chance to buy tickets on Friday.
My wristband number is 13558. Hopefully they pick a number in the mid five thousands. That way by the time late afternoon rolls around I’ll have a shot at getting some tickets. Last year I got lucky because my number was in the 18 thousands and the number th
ey drew initially was low, but because I was standing in line for tickets by 5pm they let everyone who was in line at the time go in to go buy tickets. Pretty sweet right ?
I’m looking to get tickets for Opening Day, the Cleveland series, the Twins series and of course the Cardinals. All and all I plan on going to 52 games. Yes, I know it sounds crazy, but as I say its go big or go home.
While last season ended in disappointment with a gut wrenching exit from the playoffs I have much anticipation for the new year. The haunting memories are in the past and I to look forward to watching the 2009 Cubs. I think they have what it takes to get back to the playoffs, however what they do from there is up to them. Either way it should be another fun and exciting season at the corner of Clark and Addison. Hope springs eternal….
