For What It's Worth

Random Thoughts.

New episodes of South Park started last night. I’m amazed at how long that show has been able to last when a show like Beavis and Butthead which is pretty similar in humor is one in an the same. They were both on cable and yet some how a show on MTV, which is a complete joke, gets booted. Garbage. Back to South Park they are usually hit or miss. They usually take something from the news or whats popular and offer their spin on it. The Barack Obama episode they did last season was hilarious.

Last night they made fun of the Jonas Brothers and Disney. It was alright like I said it’s either hit or miss. ::Spoiler Alert:: they killed off Kenny last night. Which was the first time they did in awhile. It wasn’t a typical kill like they did in the beginning of the show. He died of syphilis from his girlfriend. Cartman warned him too.

So over Christmas break I discovered on Toon Disney they aired X-Men cartoons. Needless to say I was pretty stoked because I loved watching them on Saturday mornings as a youth. This intrigued me to find out if these glorious cartoons were on DVD of course they weren’t.  However there was bootleg copies for on $ 70 on some site though. Speaking of good cartoons I’ve been dvring King of the Hill on Adult Swim.

I’m a big fan of Mike Judge from his work with Beavis and Butthead, especially Office Space. I used to watch King of the Hill when it first came out on Fox, but as I grew older I stopped watching it, but now that it’s on Adult Swim I felt compelled to start watching it again. It really is an underappreciated show. I wouldn’t mind getting it on dvd.

Dale Gribble is one of the better characters. Paranoid redneck, his alter ego Rusty Shackleford amuses me and has been put to good use as an alas. Ultimately I’m glad there are new episodes still being made because I fear the day it is no longer around.  My pipe dream is that Beavis and Butthead will one day make a return If Family Guy and Futurama can make come backs then why not them. Especially in this day n age of television.
