Multimedia and Me.
Being able to work a digital camera/ video camera will ultimately help me in job later on in life. This will hopefully put me ahead of those people who are already in the market. The fact that people in the industry don’t have those skills puts me a leg up on most of them. I’d probably need to get better acquainted with working a video camera so that in case I need to shoot video for a story.
Journalism is advancing and as long as I stay ahead of the curve I should be in good shape. Gone are the days where writing a story is just a enough to get by. Those days are long gone with the inception of the internet. Everything is being done online and writers have to be on track in order to survive and I plan to be the one who survives in this new era of journalism.
Sports writing is where I intend to make my living. That is an ever changing field and what we’re reporting is changing too. It’s no longer about what went on in the game, but it’s about what goes on off the field. I’m aware of that and have been taking advantage of that knowledge.
